What It Means to Become a"Magnetic" Version of Yourself

You have probably heard the phrase before: become the most magnetic version of yourself. It gets thrown around a lot in personal growth spaces, and honestly? I get why it can sound like a buzzword.

It can feel like it means showing up louder, being more charismatic, or somehow becoming a completely different person in order to attract the life you want.

But that is not what it means. Not even close.

What I have seen, both in my own life and in working with women through Reiki and coaching, is that becoming your most magnetic self is not about transformation in the dramatic sense. It is about alignment. It is what happens when you stop performing who you think you are supposed to be and start actually inhabiting who you already are.

That shift is subtle. And it changes everything.

Magnetic is not a personality type. It is what happens when you stop performing who you think you are supposed to be.

The Version of You That Is Performing vs. the Version That Is Present

Most of us spend a significant amount of energy managing the impression we make. What we say in meetings. How we present our ideas. Whether we seem like we have it together. Whether people will take us seriously.

That management is exhausting. And it is the opposite of magnetic.

When you are in performance mode, other people can feel it. Not necessarily in a way they can name, but there is a distance. A layer of glass between you and them. You are technically there, but you are not really present.

The magnetic version of you is the one who is actually in the room. She is not scanning for approval. She is not filtering every sentence before it leaves her mouth. She is not wondering if she said the right thing. She is just here, engaged, connected to what she actually thinks and feels.

That presence, that groundedness, is what draws people in. Not performance. Presence. And nervous system safety is a huge part of what makes that possible, which is something we will get to in a moment.

Being Magnetic Does Not Mean Being More

Here is what I want to be really honest about, especially for the high-achieving women I work with: becoming your most magnetic self is not about doing more, achieving more, or becoming some louder, shinier version of yourself.

A lot of women come to me having already done a lot. They have the career, the credentials, the packed calendar. They have been adding more for years. And they still feel like something is off. Like they are going through the motions of a life that looks good on paper but does not quite feel like theirs.

What many women describe as burnout is actually this: the exhaustion of performing a version of yourself that was built to meet other people's expectations. When your energy is constantly going toward maintaining that performance, there is nothing left for the things that are actually yours.

What is missing is not more achievement. It is alignment. It is the feeling of moving through your life from a place that is genuinely you.

Becoming the magnetic version of yourself is actually about subtraction as much as addition. It is about releasing the identities, habits, and beliefs that were never really yours. It is about getting honest about what you actually want, not what you think you should want.

When you do that work, you stop leaking energy into things that do not fit. And that freed up energy? That is what magnetism actually looks like.

Magnetic is about subtraction as much as addition. Releasing what was never really yours.

How Reiki Supports This Kind of Personal Growth

I am a Reiki practitioner and a magnetic life coach, and I intentionally work with both modalities. A lot of people come to me for clarity, a career change, burnout, or a sense of direction. And that is what we work on together.

What I have learned over and over again is that the mindset shifts that need to happen, the beliefs about worthiness, about what is possible, about who we are allowed to be, those do not just live in our thoughts. They live in our bodies.

You can think your way to a new belief intellectually and still feel the old one running in the background. You can know logically that you are enough and still act from a place of scarcity. That gap between what you know and how you actually move through the world is where Reiki comes in.

Reiki works at the level of the nervous system and the energetic body. It is a form of energy healing that helps create safety at a physiological level, not just a mindset level. When we start to clear out the places where you are holding old stories, old fear, old patterns that never belonged to you in the first place, something opens up.

You start to take up more of the space that was always meant for you. You start to act from a more grounded, whole version of yourself, the one who is not bracing or performing or shrinking.

That is the magnetic version. She was there the whole time.

A Practice: Self-Discovery Journaling to Meet Your Magnetic Self

If you want to start connecting with this version of yourself, journaling is one of the most honest places to begin. Not performing for an audience. Just you and the page.

These prompts are designed for self-discovery, not productivity. There is no goal here except honesty. Set aside 20 to 30 minutes in a quiet place. Light a candle if that helps you settle. Take a few slow breaths before you begin. Then move through these questions slowly, one at a time:

1. When do I feel most like myself? Not most productive, not most impressive. Most like me. What is happening in those moments, and what do they have in common?

2. What version of myself have I been performing for other people? Who did I think I needed to be, and where did that idea come from?

3. What have I been tolerating in my life, my work, or my relationships that no longer fits who I actually am?

4. If I trusted myself completely, what would I stop doing? What would I start?

5. What would it feel like to move through the world as the full, unfiltered version of me? What would be different?

There are no right answers here. The goal is honesty, not inspiration. Write what is actually true, not what sounds good.

3 Affirmations to Call In Your Magnetic Self

These are not meant to be empty repetitions. Read them slowly. Let them land. If one feels hard to believe, that is information worth sitting with. The resistance usually points to something real.

1. I do not have to earn my place. I already belong here, fully and exactly as I am.

2. My presence is enough. I do not need to perform, prove, or shrink to be worthy of connection.

3. I am becoming more of who I already am. My most magnetic self is already inside me.

Say them in the morning. Write them at the top of your journal page. Put them somewhere you will actually see them. Let them be a point of return when the old patterns start pulling you back.

You Do Not Have to Become Someone Else

The version of you that feels free, grounded, clear, and genuinely herself? She is not waiting on the other side of a major transformation. She is not some far-off destination.

She is just you, with less in the way.

That is the work of authentic personal growth. And it is some of the most important work you will ever do.

If you are ready to start doing it with support, I would love to hold space for that with you. Whether that is through Reiki for nervous system healing, holistic career coaching, or a combination of both, we can figure out what fits. You can learn more and book a session at reikingsunshine.com.
